Aggeliki Barberopoulou, Panayotis Andrianopoulos and Vicki Kouskouna as part of a team called ENCELADOC (a synthesis of a word combining the titan of earthquakes
and documentation) were awarded by
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative
through Columbia University for our work in documenting historical earthquakes. This project was one of 8 awarded from a pool of
350 applicants. Among many things this award supports our work in disseminating information on important historical and recent
earthquakes and producing educational materials in the area of historical earthquakes and tsunamis.
We are delighted to announce the upcoming publication of our new volume, featuring our refreshed logo and updated formatting,
with an estimated release date of July 4th, 2025. This special volume is a collection of review articles,
proudly dedicated to the memory and legacy of our founder, Dr. Pararas-Carayannis.
Navigating the transition to a new team following his passing has presented a significant, albeit rewarding, learning curve.
We are immensely proud of this achievement and eagerly anticipate a busy year filled with new opportunities.
